It seems the success of British online bingo site Foxy Bingo is attracting similar companies to move to these shores.
The Anguilla-based online bingo operator Bingo.com has confirmed that it intends to establish itself further in the UK market.
The news comes after the company, based on the Caribbean island, announced significant revenue losses for 2006, due principally to its US operations being hit by recent anti-gambling legislation.
Foxy Bingo, a Cashcade ltd. Registered online bingo site has proved to be extremely popular despite its relative short time in existence. Plans to promote and improve the site even further are in the pipeline in this growing market.
Bingo.com CEO Tarnie Williams stated: "With the passing of the United States Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act, Bingo.com was left with no choice but to halt its gaming operations and sell its entire United States business to an unrelated third party."
The company confirmed that it has accelerated its plans to break into the UK market, with the launch of its UK online bingo sites set for March 2007.
"We are excited by the opportunity these markets present to Bingo.com and look forward to a return to profitability," Mr Williams confirmed.
The developments come soon after the chancellor Gordon Brown announced possible introduction of tax breaks aimed at encouraging overseas-based gaming operators to invest in the UK market.
However with Foxybingo.com one of the market leaders in the UK the Anguilla based bingo giant will have a hard act to follow if it’s to woe the British online gaming public.
