Simpson was arrested at the Palms Hotel after being accused of participating in an armed raid on a casino hotel room, during which sports memorabilia was taken from two dealers.
Alleged victim Alfred Beardsley said that the men pretended to be customers, pulled out guns and demanded the items.
Simpson is denying the use of guns, telling the Los Angeles Times that he and some "golfing buddies" had simply gone to the casino to reclaim sports souvenirs that belonged to him.
“I just wanted to get my stuff back," Simpson told CNN’c Ted Rowlands.
Simpson, 60, said he entered the room with a group of friends, one of whom was posing as a potential buyer. The friends helped him carry items out.
But, he said, no guns were involved, and the incident was not a robbery.
