Horsley, current Miss England, has been told to pile up the pounds if she wants to have a clear shot on winning the upcoming Miss World, reports Daily Mail. The 20-year-old florist is only a size 8, but that won't be enough for the judges of this contest. "Miss World judges like naturally curvy girls and don't like the stick-thin women you see on the catwalks," Georgia Horsley told the paper and also shared that she is going on a high-fat diet to gain some weight for the December 1st competition.
In recent years European nations have done well at the Miss World Competition. In 2005 Iceland’s Unnur Birna Vilhjalmsdottir scooped the tiara and in 2003 Chris De Burgh’s daughter Rosanna Davison won the competition for Ireland.
The 2007 Miss World will be the 57th edition of the competition since the beauty pageant started and this year it will be held in Sanya, China on December 1.
Odds have yet to be released by bookies as all of the national title holders have not yet been chosen.
In 2001 a South African casino played centre stage in one of Miss World’s most historical moments.
That year Miss Nigeria Oluchi Onwuagba was announced as the first ever black winner of the beauty pageant at the luxury casino resort of Sun City, Johannesburg.
Ireland has already chosen it’s entrant for the 2007 competition also. It will be 21 year old Blathnaid McKenna from County Kildare.
Already predictions are flying about the internet with the representatives of India, Nepal, Indonesia and Japan all being hotly tipped to become the 57th Miss World.
