As he flew to London from his home in the United States last week one online casino player must have been having dreams of luxury yachts and a lavish lifestyle.

Using the player name ‘Obaesso’ the American factory worker scooped the world’s biggest ever online casino jackpot of £4.4 million ($8 million) on the UK based InterCasino.com gaming site.

The site confirmed the lucky winner had never traveled more than 50 kilometeres from his home in his life but what a better way to spread your wings for the first time than with a trip to the British Capital to pick up such a life changing cheque.

But the story gets even more remarkable. The record- breaking winner had never played on the site before his winning moment.

Initially he didn’t believe he had reached the jackpot so he phoned intercasino.com to double check he wasn’t seeing things on the screen in front of him and the good news was confirmed.

In a statement to the press, InterCasino has announced that the rolling jackpot has been reset, to just above $2 million.

Commenting on the win Peter Marcus, spokesman for InterCasino, said: "This is great news.”

It’s not the first time that InterCasino hit the headlines for big payouts.

Essex based Jon. R. won the jackpot in December 2005 pocketing almost £900,000 ($1.77 million). Reacting to his good fortune at the time the English man said “I know it sounds unbelievable but I really felt I was going to win the jackpot, winning it is definitely going to change my life. t the recommendation of my wife I may buy myself an Aston Martin for Christmas and then take the entire family out shopping!”
The win at the time was one of the biggest online payouts ever in history.
