Let’s face it Bingo and Britain go together like Fish and Chips. It’s no wonder then that the modern day equivalent ‘online bingo’ is the most popular leisure activity in the UK for women between 20 and 25 years old. That’s right, not yoga, not hockey, not jogging but online bingo.

Match fixing allegations have been made following a Coca-Cola Championship clash between two of the league’s top sides.

A UK survey by pollsters iD Factor has found that 45.7 percent of people questioned don’t trust gambling firms with protecting their identity. Gambling firms came higher than even the government in the questionnaire which was answered by 1,000 people.

The British responsible gambling charity, GamCare, have reported a 25 percent annual increase in the number of calls to its helpline in 2007. There were around 30,000 calls to the charity in 2006, and in 2007 the figure had risen to 37,806.
