Amid the hustle and bustle of London’s corporate heartland one shop stands out catering for the Chess, Bridge and Poker population of this thriving city. Graham Clifford spoke to General Manager Matt Read about the store, the industry and the changing face of Poker.

In the United States they call it Caribbean stud poker but in the U.K and Europe the same game is known as Casino five card stud poker.

The basic game in the World series of poker Texas Hold’em is usually played between 2 and 10 people and is said to have been invented in the early 1900s.

It’s one of the most common and arguably enjoyable card games in existence and is also known as Blitz or Scat. Thirty one is usually played by at least four players with the object being to obtain a hand with a point value closer to 31 than the hands of your opponents.

Made up of two separate games Three card Poker is another game gaining in popularity. Players can choose to play either or indeed both of the games if they wish.
