Builder wins lottery after psychic's prediction

Tony Nutbrown has scooped £3,038,567 on the National Lottery amazingly after a psychic predicted his daughter would win the jackpot and he dreamt of winning the lottery the night before.

Mr Nutbrown, a 54 year-old father of four from Carlisle, was one of four winners sharing the top jackpot as his lucky dip ticket matched the winning numbers of 7, 16, 17, 23, 29 and 34.

He said the mystery psychic met his daughter, Claire, at her pet shop in Hull the morning before the draw and predicted someone in her family would win the lottery.

Mr Nutbrown said, “Claire didn’t tell me about it until after I had won, but even if she had, I don’t think she would have believed her.

“At the time this woman came in, Claire thought it was a very strange thing to say.  She had been in before and Claire knows her by sight but not her name.

“She said this peculiar thing and then left without another word.

“Then, that night, I won the jackpot.  It’s either an incredible coincidence or this lady can see into the future.”

Mr Nutbrown phoned his daughter to try to track down the mysterious psychic.

He said, “I hope she goes back in some time, I would love to know how she knew.”

30 year-old Claire added, “It’s freaky.  This lady who comes in the shop tells us this and my dad wins the lottery.

“I don’t even know her name.  All I know is she comes in the shop and buys wild birdseed and dog food.

“I wish she would come in and tell me the numbers for next week.”

Mr Nutbrown is a self-employed builder and plans to continue working although there will be no more heavy lifting for him.

He plans to enjoy the money by buying a new house, taking a long holiday and swapping his old car a Vauxhall Vectra for a luxury Jaguar XKRS.

He has played the lottery each week for the past 13 years but never managed to win more than £100.

54 year-old, Patricia Alderson is Mr Nutbrown’s partner and works as a nursing assistant.

She said, “I’ve been suffering with rheumatism and had missed quite a lot of work recently.  It was just last week that I went back to work full time.

“I won’t be working for a living anymore but I will still go in on a voluntary basis.  It is great that Tony does not have to do any physical work anymore.

“I used to worry that he would never be able to retire.”
