Thought gambling was restricted to the macho male with the cigar and the girl on either side, then think again!
The very first gay online casino has been launched with the advertising tagline “Where girlz and boyz come out to play”.
"Dorothy's Palace is the world's first gay online casino with true peer-to-peer functionality where players can play as the player or the dealer," the site announced.
The unique site is run by and for members of the gay community and their friends. It will also be giving ten percent of its profits to the British charity - the Terence Higgins Trust.
The Trust was the first charity in the UK to be set up in response to HIV, having been established twenty five years ago. Terry Higgins died aged 37 in St. Thomas’ Hospital, London in 1982. He was among the first people in the UK to die with AIDS.
Now in it’s first full moth of operation the online site says it has a great range of games to choose from including Blackjack, Video poker, Slots, Pai Gow Poker and Caribbean Poker.
However all the headlines will focus on the specific nature of the website’s targeted audience.
It’s not yet known if other online gambling site owners are considering similar sites for specific gender or ethnic groups. You can be sure though they will be watching ‘Dorothy’s Palace’ very carefully to see if there’s a future in such types of gambling sites.
