Yesterday The Observer published the Gambling Commission’s secret minutes revealing the full scale of a planned super-casino expansion in Britain. The leaked document says that the equivalent of 10 Las Vegas-style casinos will be built in England and Wales.
Next week the Gambling Commission will officially announce the decision where Britain’s first super-casinos will be sited. The list includes London’s Millennium Dome and Blackpool. Over the last two years the commission has approved 90 new casinos with a total gaming floor space of nearly 600,000 square feet. 57 new applications are still awaiting approval. It is expected that the total number of casinos in Britain will soon reach 200.
