Cardiff is the venue for the UK’s first ever casino school and students from all over the country are flocking to the Welsh capital in the hope of becoming a croupier.
While
onlinecasinopress.co.uk has featured casino/croupier courses in the past at other educational institutions this is the first independently accredited facility to teach students who wish to become involved in the industry.
As many as 100 students can train at the casino school every year on either a six week full-time course or a 24 week part-time intensive program.
Once completed, students will receive an accredited qualification for 'Professional Croupier Gaming Skills' after learning about gambling laws, gambling awareness, social responsibility and conflict resolution.
Croupiers can start off earning between £13,000 and £18,000 per annum at casinos in the UK though many decide to go down the route of working on cruise liners earning considerably more.
Training officer and founder of Professional Croupier Training (PCT), Janet Miller, said "The new National Occupational Standards are part of a move to professionalise the sector and encourage more talented people, including graduates, to pursue careers in casinos."
She added "People aged over 18 can train as croupiers. If they have outgoing personalities, are good with figures and have dexterity in both hands, they may well have the ingredients to succeed in this business."
Ms Miller has been a professional croupier for over 20 years in casinos all over the world. She aims to develop similar centres of excellence all over Britain.
If you are interested in signing up for one of the casino courses then you can contact PCT on 02920 219 894 or alternatively e-mail HYPERLINK "mailto:info@croupiertraining-pct.co.uk" info@croupiertraining-pct.co.uk
