The Which Bingo Awards 2008

Throughout the month of December, online bingo players had the chance to vote for their favourite bingo site of the year - as well as their favourite new bingo site of the year - by casting their vote on the Which Bingo website. The public voted for Jackpot Joy as the Which Bingo ‘Site of the Year’ and Bingo Playground won the Which Bingo ‘New Site of the Year’ Award.
Online bingo players could choose from a list of the 250 bingo sites available in the UK as their site of the year and from the 22 sites launched in 2008 as their favourite new site of the year.
The Jackpot Joy site has some big progressive jackpots on its bingo and slots games such as its The Price Is Right bingo game and Deal or No Deal slots game. JackpotJoy succeed Think Bingo who won the award in 2007. Think Bingo were down in 26th place this year. Of course, the result should be taken with a pinch of salt as not every online bingo player casted their vote on the Which Bingo website.
The runners-up spot for the ‘Site of the Year’ Award was taken by Platinum Play Bingo with Crown Bingo in third place and BingoLiner UK fourth. Sun Bingo - who had a much publicised revamp in 2008 - were in 5th place.
Market leaders Foxy Bingo, Ladbrokesbingo.com and 888ladies.com were voted into 10th, 18th and 20th place respectively.
The sheer number of websites players could choose to vote for reflects just how big online bingo has become, with 22 new sites springing up in the UK in 2008 alone. Bingo Playground who topped the ‘New Site of the Year’ poll have established themselves well in the online bingo market.
In second place in the ‘New Site of the Year’ category was Tombola, with Wink Bingo third. Platinum Play Bingo did well in both polls and were fourth in this category with the House of Bingo website occupying 5th spot.
Other major newcomers 888ladies.com, Think Bingo Cosy and Bingo On The Box finished in 7th, 9th and 21st place respectively.
