Slotland have launched the Spanish language version of their slotland.com online casino website. It offers the same slots, video poker games and jackpots as the English site on the web and on mobile phones. It is designed to target the ever growing market of Spanish and Latin American online casino players.
Due to increased broadband availability Spain has seen a big increase in the number of people going online to gamble.
Just last year the number of Spanish online gamblers rose almost 50 percent from 2006 and they gambled a total of 650 million euros (£511,400). According to German research company MECN, Spain’s internet gambling industry is set for major growth and could be worth 4.2 billion euros (£3.3 million) by 2010 with many more online gambling companies setting up sites in Spanish. Many online gaming firms are well placed to enter the market as neighbouring Gibraltar is where many online gambling firms have offices.
In comparison, the Spanish land-based casino market has experienced similar patterns to the UK with many casinos either suffering a drop in takings or going to the wall.
Slotland recently celebrated the 10th birthday of its slotland.com website at the CAP Euro Barcelona exhibition and seeing as there were on Spanish soil it was a good time to promote the launch of the Spanish language site with a champagne toast. The group also announced the launch of a new free slots site and a 3D Casino. The site offered some special bonuses to mark the occasion of its birthday.
A special Spanish speaking customer service team has been trained to provide phone and email support for casino players of the new Spanish site.
