Sky Bet will be launching their mobile gambling services on the Mkodo platform at the end of January. The new service will compliment Sky Bet’s online, interactive TV and telephone betting services it already offers punters.
The Mkodo mobile platform already boasts the BBC, Turner Broadcasting and Blue Square as its clients.
The new mobile betting service website will use next generation technology with key functionality and information needed to allow punters to place bets at anytime and anywhere from their handsets.
Speaking about the launch, the senior product manager of Sky Bet, Pritpal Bains commented that, “The mobile channel is an important part of our strategy; hence the strategic decision to upgrade our offering in this area. We selected mkodo because we wanted to work with the pre-eminent supplier in this market. The mkodo team has significant experience in the provision of mobile content and commerce sites. This has been evident with the smooth running of the project and with their professionalism to date.”
Only recently Mkodo teamed up with gaming and betting solutions company Orbis Technology which has strengthened Mkodo’s expertise in providing bookmakers with mobile betting service solutions.
Sky Bet join their main competitors in the sports betting field, William Hill and Ladbrokes – in offering mobile betting services.
The finishing touches are being put to the new Sky Bet mobile site and it is scheduled to be launched at the end of this month. It will primarily offer sports betting together with popular casino games such as blackjack and roulette.
