Poker pants a hit for bad boy Blake

Poker themed underwear sported by Burnley FC’s 32 year old striker Robbie Blake is proving to be very popular with fans of the Clarets.
The former Leeds United and Birmingham City front man unveiled a pair of bright red briefs sporting the phrase Bad Beat Bob when he scored in his side's recent victory over Coventry City.
A spokesperson for Burnley revealed that replica versions of the pants, which refer to Blake's recent run of bad luck in team poker games, have become one of the club store's bestselling items
.??"We've been amazed at the demand in the club shop - you could say we've been caught with our pants down," he told reporters.
The club revealed that a fresh batch of Bad Beat Bob underwear has been ordered after the first 50 pairs sold out.??Last week, Blake explained that he was given the original pair by team-mate and poker buddy Clarke Carlisle, who urged him to show them if he scored against Coventry.
"A bad beat is when you have a good poker hand that is a clear favourite to win, but is beaten by another hand," said Blake.??
"Every time we play for coppers on the bus to games, I think I am miles ahead and it always turns out that the only card someone needs to beat me, they get!"??
He continued: "When Clarke Carlisle told me he'd got me a present and I had to wear them at Coventry, I said no problem."
"Then he turns up in the changing rooms with these bright red slips with 'Bad Beat Bob' on the backside. He said 'if you score, you have to whip them bad boys out' and what great timing!"??
Luckily for Blake, his bad luck at the poker table does not seem to be carrying over to the football pitch as he’s already bagged two league goals this season.
