Dave 'Devilfish' Ulliott is set to become a TV star when How to Become a Poker Millionaire debuts on ITV Wales on September 4th.
The series will be split into five 30-minute parts and will take four losing poker players and give them 30 days of intensive training by the UK poker ace.
These card-playing hopefuls will then be eliminated one-by-one as the show progresses until one is left. He will then be given a place at the next World Series of Poker (WSOP) in Las Vegas.
As well having the opportunity to pick up hints during Ulliott's training sessions, viewers will also be treated to interviews with some of the top poker players in the world, who have 34 WSOP bracelets between them.
Ulliott, who has millions of dollars of tournament winnings under his own belt as well as WSOP and World Poker Tour titles to his name, said, "Poker players won't have seen anything like this before. It was a real boot camp for the participants and I took no prisoners. There's laughter and tears, good poker and bad poker, and viewers will get to learn many of the tricks of the high-stakes poker trade which took me years and a lot of money to learn."
In related news, the poker pro recently took first place in a tournament held by DevilfishPoker.com, a site which he promotes.
Originally from Hull Ulliott was once a minor figure in the Kingston upon Hull underworld.
In the UK, Ulliott is such a household name that he has been name-dropped in EastEnders, and in the inaugural edition of Poker Players Magazine, Ulliott was not only on the front cover, but also voted number 9 on their worldwide Top 10 Poker Legends List.
The series is produced by John Giwa-Amu and Caradog James of Red & Black Films who are building on their seven years industry experience and BAFTA success with one of the most innovative poker TV shows ever produced.
