New pin up boy for World Series Poker
As baby faced Beppe di Marco in BBC’s Eastenders actor Michael Greco appeared a soft touch but at the Poker table the 38 year old is anything but.
And now the British actor-turned-poker-player who recently made a World Series of Poker final table has signed for Littlewoods Poker in a sponsorship deal.
The British actor born to Italian parents will represent the UK gaming site at upcoming live and online events including the European Poker Tour.
“When I first started getting interested in the game, I was just playing with friends and learning the basics,” said Greco, who has now been playing for over five years. “I’m delighted that Littlewoods Poker has chosen to sponsor me for the new season.
“Over the past couple of years, I’ve been trying to stay away from the limelight and the celebrity lifestyle that I had when I was in Eastenders. I’m still working as an actor I’ve also been concentrating very hard on my poker”.
Greco is fusing his two passions, using his acting abilities to his advantage at the poker table.
“I have a great advantage as I can bluff very well and I can either hide my tells or create false ones to confuse them,” he revealed. Greco recently made a final table in a World Series of Poker Pot Limit Hold ‘em event, finishing 9th.
Recently Greco walked away with £100,000 following the climax of the third round of the Grosvenor Poker Tour at the Red Dragon Centre, Cardiff Bay, during the early hours and in 2007, his total live tournament winnings exceeded £200,000.
A number of years ago Greco was voted the sexiest male soap star ever and he’ll be hoping to bring all his good looks and charm to the table in the hope of distracting female competitors.
