NetPlay TV have struck a deal whereby they will be broadcasting their services such as SuperCasino.com including Live Blackjack and Live Roulette as well as Big Box Bingo on the 24 hour Freeview Channel 48. They are the first gambling broadcaster to secure a 24 hour deal with a Freeview Channel. The channel can potentially get an audience of over 15 million viewers.
Previously, NetPlay TV’s programmes have been broadcast on other freeview channels such as Virgin and Nuts TV but now they will have a single channel entirely dedicated to their programmes. The company hope with the new channel there will be able to get an increasing number of loyal viewers and customers.
Freeview reaches around 87 percent of UK households, so far in excess of 27 million Freeview boxes have been sold in the UK meaning it is the digital TV broadcaster with the biggest reach in the UK. Therefore this is a great move for NetPlay TV.
Commenting on the new deal, the executive chairman and chief executive officer of NetPlay TV, Martin Higginson said, “This is a major milestone for our business. Freeview is the largest digital TV platform in the UK with over 15.3 million viewers using the service. To secure a dedicated channel to broadcast our services is a real achievement for the whole team. We will now be able to drive people to our Freeview Channel 48 and thus build loyalty in this destination.
“NetPlay TV now broadcasts its services, including SuperCasino.com and Live Bingo on three of the four digital TV platforms, Freeview, Sky and Freesat, giving it a total addressable audience of over 23 million homes in the UK. Allowing our customers to interact with live presenters is a real differentiator. We firmly believe customer playing habits are changing and as such more and more users are now demanding a live gaming experience.”
NetPlay TV’s services have been doing well this year as the company have expanded their services. Its Live Roulette service currently broadcast on Sky Channel 848 and at liveroulette.com, regularly took bets each month of over £24 million in the first half of 2008. This compares with average monthly bets of £3.4 million in 2006 and £17.3 million in 2007.
NetPlay TV launched its Live Bingo service “Big Box Bingo back in the summer of 2007 on Sky Channel 847. This has also proven to be popular with viewing punters.
NetPlay TV will begin broadcasting its services on Freeview Channel 48 on 8th January 2009.
