The Real business magazine which claims to “connect and inspire successful entrepreneurs in the UK and across the world” put the London based online gaming service providers in 63rd position to the delight of Managing Director and company founder Patrick Southon.
Explaining how Cashcade managed to remain in the Hot 100 again this year Southon said “We took on investment from an independent news and media business, which enabled us to market our products aggressively. That’s why we made the 100 businesses again this year.”
With over 300,000 registered users Foxybingo.com has provided the platform for the success of Cashcade with sales jumping from £2.2m in 2004 to £7.6m just two years later.
Now a firmly established brand the likes of glamour girl Jordon fronted the website in the past as the product quickly became well known throughout the UK. Today its profile is even greater and it’s sponsorship of the Jeremy Kyle show on ITV has further boosted its popularity.
The company also operates gaming websites for third parties such as newspaper publishers including MirrorBingo.com and MirrorCasino.com.
In February 2006 Cashcade Ltd. sold a 20% stake of the company to the newspaper group Independent News and Media for £3.9m.
The acquisition of the Elvis multi-strike slot machine game on the Getminted.com site recently has also helped increase the companies appeal with punters who are still spending big despite talk of a credit crunch.
