Grosvenor Casinos, part of the Rank Group, are the UK’s number 1 casino business. They own a total of 33 casinos in England and Wales with their popularity generating a revenue of £204.4 million in 2006 leading to an operating profit of £39.5 million.
At Grosvenor Casinos punters can enjoy all the popular casino games such as Roulette, Blackjack, Three Card Poker and Super Stud Poker. The casinos also offer Electronic Roulette which you play at your own personal terminal. In addition to this, some of the Grosvenor Casinos offer more table games such as Punto Banco, Sic Bo, The Big Six and Dice. The casinos also have slot machines with jackpots up to £4,000.
If your image of a casino is people wearing Tuxedos and evening dress then think again. Grosvenor Casinos want to make everyone feel welcome therefore their dress code policy is smart casual. This means jeans are OK but ripped jeans, trainers, football shirts, sportswear or soiled clothing are not allowed as the casino must maintain standards. They also ask you to wear a jacket over roundneck t-shirts.
You also don’t have to be rich to gamble at one of the Grosvenor Casinos. Minimum stakes can be as little as 50p. If you are a beginner to casino games you don’t need to worry either, as friendly staff are more than willing to help you play the games. In addition to the casino games, Grosvenor Casinos have late bars and great food. The casinos offer a modern casino environment which they call ‘The new night out’.
In addition to 33 casinos across the country, Grosvenor Casinos also offer online casino games for players at home such as card games, table games, slot games and video poker.
Grosvenor Casinos, together with Blue Square as one of their partners in the Rank Group, set up the first major UK Poker Tour which is taking place in Grosvenor Casinos up and down the country. The tour is ten legs long and started in Bolton in January. The prize money for the tour is a total of £4 million and will culminate in the UK Poker Tour Grand Final to be held at the world famous London Grosvenor Victoria Casino in Late November/early December. The Grosvenor UK Poker Tour has been televised by Channel 4.
The Managing Director of Grosvenor Casinos said about the tour, “Grosvenor Casinos have long been a home of live poker, but up until now there has been no major dedicated poker tour in the UK. We feel that a professional tour accessible to all is the natural progression of our existing poker offering and a means of attracting new players who wish to experience live poker tournaments.”
